On the recommendation of the Department of Economics of the Council of Muftis of Russia, a Russian student of Master of Science (MSc) in Islamic Banking and Finance at IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, Ruslan Sabirzyanov began a training program at the of Treasury and Investments Department of AlBaraka Banking Group in Bahrain. The training program started on the 8th of March 2015.
AlBaraka Bank is one of the largest Islamic banks in the world with an extensive network of branches in more than 12 countries. The headquarters is located in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.
Ruslan, originally from Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, wrote his master’s thesis in Kuala Lumpur on “Islamic Financial Products and Services Patronizing Behaviour in Tatarstan: The Role of Perceived Values and Awareness”
Ruslan shared his impressions after the first days of the training with MuslimEco portal:
“The working week in the Kingdom of Bahrain starts on Sunday and ends on Thursday. Therefore, first day of my training started on Sunday. Since the financial markets are closed on Saturday and Sunday, the experts of the Department were involved in the preparation of reports and market analysis. I was welcomed very well and I have been introduced to the principles of the work in the Department. Furthermore, each employee explained his/her functions and job scope. It is interesting to note the friendly attitude of employees and willingness to show and explain the details of the work.
On the second day of the training, on Monday, trading started early morning. I personally took part in several deals under the supervision and guidance of one of the employees with years of experience in Treasury Departments of various European and GCC banks. The knowledge acquired during my study in Malaysia proved to be very useful. On a personal note, I believe that I will further participate in a number of deals and increase the practical knowledge in this field”.
The training program in AlBaraka Banking Group in Bahrain carried out owing to the agreement between the Council of Muftis of Russia (Department of Economics) and AlBaraka Banking Group.
