Zad Holding Company gives QR7.45mn as Zakat
Zad Holding Company has provided, on behalf of its shareholders, QR7.45mn as Zakat for 2009 to the Zakat Fund, Sheikh Eid Charity and Qatar Charity.
The Qatari shareholding company has paid QR2,651,706 to the Zakat Fund and QR2.4mn each to the Sheikh Eid Charity and Qatar Charity.
Zad Holding provided the Zakat based on the recommendation of the board of directors with Sheikh Nasser bin Mohamed bin Jabor al-Thani as chairman.
It was recommended that the company has to provide Zakat for each financial year, in accordance with the Islamic Shariah calculation, and pay it to charity organisations certified by Qatar government.
The company’s general assembly had approved the recommendation with a belief that the importance of Zakat is based on the principle of interdependence among Muslims which represents a cornerstone of the Islamic religion.
